Add a Testimonial Wall to Your Carrd Site — No New Tools, No Fake Reviews
You already have the social proof. It's sitting on your Shopify App Store listing, earning five-star reviews while your Carrd landing page sits there asking visitors to just trust you. AppLaud imports those reviews and turns them into an embeddable wall of love — one script tag, no CSS conflicts, no signup required to preview.

Carrd Is Perfect — Right Up Until the Credibility Gap
Carrd is genuinely good at what it does. For a solo founder shipping a Shopify app, it's the fastest path from idea to a page that converts. Clean, fast, cheap. The problem isn't Carrd.
The problem is that when a potential user lands on your page, they have no reason to believe you yet. You can write the best copy in the world, but a wall of real reviews from real people who already paid for your app is worth more than any headline you'll ever craft.
Your reviews exist. They're just stranded on a marketplace listing that most of your landing page visitors will never visit.
What AppLaud Does, Specifically
AppLaud pulls reviews directly from your Shopify App Store listing and renders them as an embeddable widget — a scrolling carousel or static wall of cards — that you can drop into any Carrd site with a single embed code block.
Each card shows the reviewer's name, star rating, and the full review text, and links back to the original review on the Shopify App Store so it's verifiable. The widget loads asynchronously (no layout shift, no slowing down your page), runs inside a shadow DOM (so Carrd's styles can't interfere with it and it can't interfere with Carrd's styles), and is served from a CDN.
By default it surfaces four and five-star reviews. You can pin a specific review to the top, or hide one that's no longer representative. You're curating, not fabricating.
How to Embed It in Carrd
Carrd includes an Embed element that accepts raw HTML and JavaScript. That's all you need.
The process: connect your Shopify App Store URL in AppLaud, grab your unique script tag, drop it into a Carrd Embed block, publish. Under normal conditions this takes less than five minutes from start to a live, working testimonial section.
No API keys to manage. No custom domain configuration. No Zapier workflows. You paste one line and it works.
Try It Before You Sign Up for Anything
There's a free preview at get-applaud.com/try. Paste your Shopify App Store URL and you'll see an instant render of your wall — what it will actually look like with your real reviews — before you create an account or enter a card number.
This matters because you shouldn't have to commit to a tool before you know it looks right. The preview is fully functional and takes about ten seconds.
Pricing That Makes Sense for Solo Founders
The free plan gives you up to ten testimonials with an AppLaud badge in the corner. For most early-stage apps, that's enough to get started and see whether it actually moves your conversion rate.
Starter is $19 per month: unlimited testimonials, no badge, one app. If you're running a single Shopify app and want a clean embed with no co-branding, that's the plan.
Pro is $39 per month and covers up to ten apps plus analytics — built for the point when you're running a small portfolio and want to track which reviews are driving the most engagement.
All plans start free. No card required to sign up. You can upgrade, downgrade, or cancel from your dashboard.
How This Differs From Collecting New Testimonials
Tools like Senja and Testimonial.to are genuinely useful — they're built around sending forms to customers and collecting new testimonials through a structured request process. If you don't have marketplace reviews yet, or you want to gather testimonials from customers outside a marketplace, those are solid options worth looking at.
AppLaud's focus is different: if you already have a body of reviews on the Shopify App Store, you shouldn't have to ask those same customers to fill out another form to get that proof onto your landing page. The reviews are already written, already verified, already public. AppLaud moves them to where they'll do more work.
What's Coming Next
Right now AppLaud imports from the Shopify App Store. Chrome Web Store and WordPress.org plugin reviews are on the roadmap as upcoming import sources — not live yet, but the direction is clear: wherever indie makers earn reviews on marketplaces, AppLaud should be able to surface them.
If you sell a Chrome extension or a WordPress plugin and you're interested in early access when those sources go live, you can sign up at get-applaud.com and you'll hear about it first.
Frequently asked questions
- Does AppLaud work with Carrd's free plan?
- AppLaud's script tag works anywhere Carrd's Embed element is available, since the Embed block accepts raw HTML and JavaScript. The Embed element is part of Carrd's paid plans, so check your current Carrd plan to confirm it's included. AppLaud itself has a free tier, so you can test the combination without paying for AppLaud.
- Will the testimonial widget affect my Carrd page's load speed?
- The widget loads asynchronously, meaning it does not block the rest of your page from rendering. Your Carrd page loads normally; the testimonial widget fills in after the main content is ready. It's also served from a CDN, so it loads quickly regardless of where your visitors are located.
- Can I control which reviews appear?
- Yes. AppLaud shows four and five-star reviews by default. Within your dashboard you can pin a specific review to always appear first, or hide a review you'd rather not surface. You can't edit the review text — these are real reviews from real users — but you have meaningful control over what gets featured.
- I only have a handful of reviews so far. Is it worth using AppLaud?
- Even three or four strong reviews displayed well on a landing page can meaningfully shift visitor trust. The free plan supports up to ten testimonials at no cost, so there's no financial reason to wait. You can always add more as your review count grows.
- Which marketplaces can AppLaud import reviews from?
- Today, only the Shopify App Store. Chrome Web Store and WordPress.org are listed as upcoming sources on the roadmap but are not yet available. If your reviews are on the Shopify App Store, you can use AppLaud right now. If they're elsewhere, you can sign up and watch for updates.
- Do I need to ask my customers to do anything?
- No. AppLaud imports the reviews they already wrote on the Shopify App Store. Your customers don't need to fill out a form, click a link, or do anything new. The reviews that already exist on your listing are what get surfaced.
